Stride Stories

Terms of use

Last updated 5 October 2026. Plain English: the deal when you use the Stride Stories app.

The short version

Your safety comes first

Stride Stories gives you a route and plays stories while you run or walk. You decide where and when it's safe to go. Routes can cross busy streets, pass through areas that feel different at night, or include steps, uneven paths or closures we don't know about. Follow traffic signals and local laws, keep your music and stories at a volume that lets you hear traffic, and stop or turn back whenever something doesn't feel right. Check with a doctor before starting a new exercise routine if you have any health concerns.

By using a tour you accept the risks that come with running and walking outdoors, and you agree that Stride Stories isn't responsible for injury, loss or damage that happens while you use it, to the fullest extent the law allows.

The stories

Every story is researched and checked against sources before it's published. When a story is a legend or can't be confirmed, we say so ("the story goes"). Even so, mistakes happen and places change. The stories are for enjoyment and general interest, not professional, legal or historical advice. If you spot a mistake, use "Spot a mistake? Tell us" on the tour's page or email us.

Stories, narration, maps, photos and the app itself belong to Stride Stories or the people who licensed them to us. You can use them in the app for your own enjoyment, and share the cards and links the app makes for sharing. Please don't copy, resell or republish them.

Tours made for you

If you ask for a custom tour, don't put anything in the request you don't have the right to share. Tours that start at a home stay private to your account. Stories about public places may be added to our shared library, as the privacy policy explains.

Music and other services

Soundtracks open in Spotify, Apple Music or another music app, and Strava sharing uses your Strava account. Those services have their own terms, and we're not responsible for them.

Spotify. Some features use Spotify's developer platform. For those features: Stride Stories, not Spotify, is responsible for this app, and Spotify has no liability to you for it. We make no promises on Spotify's behalf, and Spotify's platform, service and content are provided without any implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You may not modify, copy, make derivative works of, decompile, reverse-engineer or disassemble Spotify's platform, service or content. Spotify is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and of our privacy policy and may enforce them directly.

Beta

The app is a test version. Features, tours and these terms may change. We may stop offering the app, a tour or a feature at any time. It's provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Your account

Use the app lawfully and don't try to break, overload or misuse it. You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may close accounts that misuse the service.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app if the change matters. Questions: support@stridestories.com.
